You can find the Borrowing form at http://lib.eap.gr/borrowing.htm, save it to your hard disk, fill it in with all the required data and send it as an attachment at lib@eap.gr or send it by fax to 2610-362821. You have the right to borrow up to 4 books for 20 days with the right of one renewal for another 20 days, as long as you call the Library (2610-362830), before the first 20 day period expires. Book shipping is done exclusively by a courier service that you may choose while you are charged with all the expenses. The return of the books is done the same way or by post office (registered mail).

You can find the Interborrowing form at http://lib.eap.gr/borrowing_inter.htm, save it to your hard disk, fill it in with all the required data and send it as an attachment at lib@eap.gr. Then the Library of HOU forwards the form to the library from which the student wants to use their right of interborrowing. Then, the student must call the specific library in order to find whether the material is available or not and therefore go there to pick it up. You can find the Dissertations borrowing form at http://lib.eap.gr/borrowing-diploma.htm, save it to your hard disk, fill it in with all the required data and send it as an attachment at lib@eap.gr. The maximum number of dissertations you can borrow is two titles per 10 days. The dissertations can only be lent to tutors of HOU and to students of the Study Programs, in the framework of which, the dissertation has been authored. Moreover, they can be lent to students or tutors of relative Study Programs of HOU.
If the size of the dissertation does not exceed 2 MB the shipping can be done by e-mail, otherwise it will be sent to you, in a CD-ROM, by a courier service that you may choose while you are charged with all the expenses. This CD-ROM is not returnable.
At http://lib.eap.gr/information.htm you can find all the institutes to which HOU has donated its editions. Moreover, students wishing to buy the books of HOU can contact the Content Dissemination Unit and more specifically Mrs. Giannopoulou, at giannopoulou@eap.gr or call her at: 2610-642724.
In order to have distance access to the electronic resources and services of the library, such as Data Bases and Electronic Journals, you have to do the following: At the library web site (http://lib.eap.gr) click on the field “Electronic Information Resources” and then on “Guidelines on accessing electronic services” in order to download a word file with further connection guidelines. At this point you are going to be asked to type in your personal password, given to you by the Student Registry Department. After downloading the guidelines, you must follow the mentioned steps to the letter. These settings have to do with the process of the connection of your computer to the server of the library of HOU and the change of the IP address.
HealLink is the consortium of the Hellenic Academic Libraries, where a great collection of Electronic Journals and Data Bases is available. In order to connect to HealLink you will have to change some settings to your computer, which you can find at the portal of HOU. In order to connect to the portal you will have to type in the username and password given to you by HOU. Accessing Heal-Link services can be done automatically only by those included to the DIODOS program while no registration is required. If you do not have an ADSL connection through DIODOS program, then you will have to follow the instructions for accessing electronic information resources available at the library web site (http://lib.eap.gr).
Dissertations must be deposited exclusively in electronic format (CD-ROM containing a single file) at the Library of HOU. The file is best to be sent in two (2) copies and in PDF format.
You can convert your word file to PDF using Open Office, a free and user friendly program. You can download it at: http://www.openoffice.org/ . After you install the program, open Open Office Writer. Then choose the File and click on Open to open the word file you wish to convert. Lastly, you click on File and Export as PDF and you convert it to PDF.
The Library of HOU is open at workdays from 7:45 a.m. to 19:15 p.m. and at the weekends from 10:15 a.m. to 15:45 p.m. The working schedule does not apply during legal holidays.
