Interborrowing Processes - Article Interborrrowing
The Distance Library and Information Service of the Hellenic Open University offers its users the possibility to order articles that are not available in the Library but are available to other libraries, through the Union Journal Catalogue of the National Center of Documentation. All members of the Academic community have access to this service (Teaching and Research staff and Associated Educational Staff members, students, administrative staff) as well as external users. Whoever interested can submit the article order request electronically at lib@eap.gr, send it by fax at 2610362821 or give it personally at the Library, in condition they have filled in correctly the Article Interborrow Form. The users are obligated to be sure that article they searching does not exist at:
1. At the library collection (search in the electronic catalogue-
OPAC)
2. At the electronic journals available through
Heal-Link consortium and
3. At the electronic journals available
locally at the premise of the Library.
Moreover, in case users wish to search for a journal at the Union Journal Catalogue of the National Centre of Documentation and locate those libraries that have it, they can consult the Union Journal Catalogue.
Collecting the articles (photocopies) is done by the user after the library staff calls or written informs him / her to do so. The user is asked to collect the articles from the premise of the Library and pay for their price.The time and the cost for getting the articles depend on the way of the article shipping from the Library – Supplier (shipping by post office, courier, e-mail or fax).

For an article larger than 20 pages, no fax shipping is available. The form can be sent either by e-mail at lib@eap.gr or by Fax at 2610-362821 or locally given at the library.
